What is giroPost?

giroPost is Australia Post’s banking service.  It is available to Credit Union personal banking customers at over 2,700 Post Offices across Australia.

What are the benefits of giroPost?

  • giroPost outlets are a one-stop shop for banking, bill payments and other financial transactions.

  • Access to the largest on-line banking network in Australia with over 2,700 (out of 4,000) Post Offices being connected to giroPost. 

  • On-the-spot banking for travellers and tourists.

  • Personal, convenient banking with over 83% of Australian households within 2.5 km of a giroPost outlet (In fact, over 93% of Australian households are within 7.5km of a giroPost outlet). 

 You can use giroPost if:

  • You have a VISA access card or a Redicard, with a pin number linked to it.

What type of banking can I do?

  • Deposits

  • Withdrawals

  • Open a new personal account.  You’ll need to arrange for your Credit Union to supply a new account form and then take it to a giroPost outlet.

How do I use giroPost?

1.   Select the transaction that you want to complete.  Either a deposit or withdrawal.

2.   Swipe you plastic card through the reader and select you account type.

3.   Wait for the staff member to enter the amount and ask you to confirm the details.   Then enter your pin number.
