giroPost is the largest on-line banking network in Australia with over 2,700 (out of 4,000) Post Offices being connected.  This means that over 93% of Australian households are within 7.5 km of a giroPost outlet.

You can access your Direct Access Account (S7), your Super Pensioner Account (S5) or your VISA Credit Card at participating Post Offices throughout Australia.

Yes, you can deposit cash & cheques (the cheques will take seven (7) days to clear).

Yes, you can deposit money boxes (you may have to leave the money box for counting).

And, yes, cash withdrawal fees do apply (as is normal practice at your Credit Union office). giroPost effectively provides a credit union branch for all members.

Using giroPost is simple. All you need is your Access Card (e.g. VISA) and PIN number:

  1. Tell the giroPost staff member that you want to make a deposit or withdrawal.
  2. Swipe your Access card through the card reader on the PIN pad and select your account type (it doesn’t matter which one, it will all go through to your default account – S7, S5 or S99).
  3. Wait for the staff member to enter the amount and ask you to confirm the details. Then enter your PIN number.
